Jose and Lena Stevens are the Founders of The Power Path. Having had successful careers in other disciplines before pursuing the study of psychic and intuitive skills with a variety of teachers, they undertook a decade-long shamanic apprenticeship with a Wixarika (Huichol) Maracame (shaman). All of the Power Path offerings over the years have evolved from these roots.

In 1990, they moved their family to Santa Fe, New Mexico where they incorporated as Pivotal Resources, Inc. with the intent of providing life coaching resources that would dramatically pivot people’s lives for the better. As they grew, the business became Power Path Seminars, Inc. and the School of Shamanism was founded to better reflect the overall intent to empower people to live to their highest potential.

They brought their daughter Anna on board in the late 1990s and began to work together, consulting and teaching. Lena and Jose have served on the Board of Directors of the nonprofit Society for Shamanic Practice since the 1990s. Lena continues to serve on the board alongside Anna, while Jose retired from the Board in 2022. In the early 2000s, they founded the nonprofit organization Center for Shamanic Education and Exchange, with the intention to support the indigenous wisdom from which they have benefited so much.

At their ranch in Northern New Mexico, they have been able to expand Power Path offerings to include wilderness solos, retreats, year-long training, and a place for people to acquire practitioner training and shamanic skills. The intent has always been to share indigenous wisdom based on their shamanic apprenticeship and training with the Wixarika of Mexico and the Shipibo of the Peruvian Amazon.

Remote Shamanic Healings | virtual event

Each month, around the new and full moons, Jose, Lena or Anna leads a remote shamanic healing session. These approximately 30 minute sessions are designed to be experienced in a quiet, safe place free from distraction. Even if you cannot join live they can be very powerful, and always include a good clearing and beautiful icaros. These are live webinars where you cannot be seen or heard. You can hear the practitioner and see their altar for that evening. Recording access is included for 48 hours afterwards. See the product description for dates and times.

Weekly Wisdoms | virtual event
With Lena Stevens

45 minutes of wisdoms, practices, suggestions and live Q&A designed to set up your week in the best way possible. Join live or recorded for 48 hours afterward.

Lena will present the themes for the week, introduce the animal medicine ally that showed up and talk through her altar for the week, with practices and suggestions. Then, 15 minutes for live Q&A concludes the webinar.

Our next intensive, in person One Year Shamanic Studies Program begins soon. The purpose of this program is to learn about the shamanic path, from ancient to modern through powerful practices, ceremonies, much time in nature, wilderness solos and other shamanic experiences, to assimilate its wisdom and integrate it fully into daily life.

Since the study of shamanism is many thousands of years old, students have the opportunity to learn skills and ways of seeing the world that has since been forgotten or neglected in our modern culture. Many of these practices and techniques are extremely powerful and make one much more effective in managing projects, relationships, and general life affairs.

Students form a supportive community for the year. The program is open to those who have an interest in shamanism as a life path. Prior experience with shamanism is not required but is helpful.

Many of our graduates form a tight community of hundreds of people who have shared similar training and experiences and who count each other as their friends and colleagues. Graduates of this program can be found running multinational enterprises, management consulting, directing nonprofits, healing and coaching. Read more here
