Every month, the practitioners of Shamans Directory gather as colleagues, to discuss our work, how to better support our clients, and how to care for ourselves. Each month, we begin with a reading to open our hearts and minds to our collective purpose; to be the best healers and teachers that we can be, and to forward the health and wellbeing our human family and our precious planet.
This month we read from pages 134-35 of Arkan Lushwala’s gorgeous book, The Time of the Black Jaguar. First Edition ©️ 2012. We thought we would share it with you.
Doubt is the way of the head. Certainty is the way of the heart.
Thinking too much is a vice that is hard to release. This vice is rooted in the satisfaction that the ego feels from recognizing itself as being smart. To doubt is another vice rooted in our emotional center which gets satisfied by its own torments. A tormented emotional center … is not interested in being healed or in being replaced by the peace that lives in the silence of Spirit.
Those who love deeply and want to take care of what they love decide to be disciplined … Real discipline is the practice of constantly paying attention to the present moment. One who is disciplined seeks, like a skilled hunter, to capture the moment of certainty. His or her life becomes a sequence of consequences generated from acts of power born in moments of certainty. Thanks to this kind of discipline, a huge amount of energy is accumulated … This stored energy gives us the chance of becoming solid people with great Munay, great compassion and willpower centered in the heart.
Our heart is connected to the heart of Mother Earth and Her heart is connected to the Universe. In the Universe, everything is connected and all hearts are connected by threads of light … the access to this memory and the experience that we have when the state of amnesia is over is what Indigenous people call vision.
