Shamans Directory Ambassador and Member Imelda Almqvist’s offerings for 2026–2028 reflect a deep commitment to ancestral wisdom, imagination, and the healing of intergenerational patterns. Rooted in Sacred Art and Seiðr/Old Norse traditions, her work invites participants into lived, embodied relationships with land, spirit, and lineage.Across the next three years, Imelda will offer a carefully curated series of in-person courses in Sweden and the UK. Highlights include Seiðr introduction and advanced practitioner modules at her Forest School in Sweden; intensive work in ancestral and spirit-release healing aligned with Old Norse cosmology; and Inanna’s Descent, a profound women’s Sacred Art initiation in London. Future offerings include The Forest Witch retreat, a possible art-making voyage off the coast of Iceland, a deep immersion into rune magic, and in 2028, Tracking the Völva: An exploration of pre-Viking prophetess traditions from the Stone and Iron Ages, followed by a Dream Incubation retreat in London.

Underlying all of Imelda’s work is a clear guiding principle: if we want to change the world, we must learn to dream new dreams. By consciously engaging imagination, creating new thought forms, and honouring our ancestors through intergenerational healing, we can begin to unravel inherited burdens and open pathways toward more whole futures.

Imelda is an international teacher of Sacred Art and Seiðr/Old Norse traditions and the author of four non-fiction books, including Sacred Art: A Hollow Bone for Spirit and Medicine of the Imagination. She is also the creator of The Green Bear, a picture-book series for children set in Scandinavia, encouraging young readers to stay connected to wonder and magic. Imelda appears in the Smithsonian-produced TV series Mystic Britain (Ice Age Shaman), speaking on Mesolithic Arctic deer shamanism.
