Welcome. I have been involved with shamanism since the mid 1970's. My longer term formal training began in the 1990's with don Agustin Rivas Vasquez in Peru and Michael Harner in the US. In addition to this, I have had the honor of many shorter term opportunities to work with and learn from other teachers from a wide variety of cultures. Having received so much beauty and wisdom from the shamanic traditions of the world, and wanting to share these experiences with others, I founded Shamanic Voyages, a non-profit organization that provides educational programs, trainings, workshops, and travel experiences to shamanic cultures worldwide. Throughout my travels I have worked with shamans in North, South and Central America, as well as Asia and Europe. My most consistent training lineage has been among Amazonian Curanderos through the line of don Viejo Rivas, don Agustin Rivas Vasques and don Ramone Sanchez Rojas. This line is of Shipibo origin from the Ucayali region of Peru. My teaching practice when not in the Amazon is primarily that of Core Shamanism, with influences from my exposure to a variety of other shamanic cultures and initiations. My practice includes holding sweat lodges, drumming circles, workshops and healing services. When I am not traveling with Shamanic Voyages, I occasionally contribute articles and reviews to Indie Shaman Magazine, I'm a certified Psychedelic Integration Coach, I offer Harner Shamanic Counseling and I present workshops on core shamanic journeying and the crafting of shamanic tools such as natural hide hand drums, rattles and smudge fans.
