It is with love and deep respect that we honor Connie Arroyo — Concepcion, Mama Chi, wisdom elder, teacher, healer, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Connie passed peacefully on 28 August 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of spirituality, wisdom, creativity, joy, and unconditional love. A shaman, belly dancer, teacher, and drummer — she was a woman who lived passionately, embraced adventure, and brought her light to those around her.

For those who knew Connie through Shamans Directory, her presence was a gift. We are grateful for the wisdom, warmth, humor, and perspective she shared with our community.

We will leave Connie's profile here for a time in remembrance, so that those who knew her — and those who are discovering her for the first time — may have an opportunity to encounter her words and remember the medicine she carried.

Connie's Words

The following is Connie's own introduction, preserved here in her memory.

I am Concepcion ~ AKA Connie and Mama Chi.
I'm a wisdom-elder who presently practices Indigenous traditional medicine.
Also, I am a widow, mother and grandmother.

I have had several medical challenges including cancer, all leading me towards
a healing path of deeper awareness and appreciation of life's beauty.
Growing up in a family that struggled with depression caused me to become an acute
emotional observer improving my empathy and forgiveness skills.

I was born to be an educator. Since I have a form of dyslexia, including
difficulty with word retrieval and pronunciation, I had no problem relating
to my students with so-called learning disabilities. Guess what?
They blossomed.

I can also assist in guiding you in the below listed areas, but only if you choose
to take responsibility to do your own unique and creative work:

-Improving health
-Resolving relationship issues
-Cutting negative cords or attachments
-Resetting flight and fight system
-Releasing unwanted negative energy
-Developing protective practices
-Forming an end of life dialog

My ultimate goal for you is to be able to answer...

I've long believed that I receive a gift every day in one form or another.
