Cultivating Love Under Our Will
With Joan Parisi Wilcox
Wednesday 14 February 2024
11am PST / 2pm EST / 8pm CET
Approximately 60-90 minutes
Almost every spiritual tradition claims that love is the most powerful of all energies. Love in its various manifestations, is a spectrum of feelings, from tolerance to devotion, with a key aspect of cultivating love and “being love” requiring humility — seeing our own greatness and our weakness and then allowing that for others as well. Love starts inside of us and then we bring it to the world. It actually does not require an object or person of attention. Love is not about you and another person, it is about you. Then it is about you and another person, your family, community and the world!
The goal for all of us is to pause and really own the energy of love, not as we superficially think about it, but as a deep-down energy that comes from within us (and usually doesn’t come to us unless it first comes from us) without seeking or needing any kind of return.
In the Andes they have a beautiful concept which expresses this kind of love, Munay, or love guided by our will. During our time together we will focus on useful ways to cultivate love through choice and we will offer some energy connection exercises to send and accept munay from the universal spirit beings who are always supporting us. First, connecting with our own self-love, then with our ayllu (family and close associates), then with Taytanchis (god, spirit, creator).
The discussion will be not only about love in its many manifestations but useful strategies for cultivating it! We hope to see you there.

Shamanic earth-based traditions are ancient teachings and practices that have existed across the continents since the beginning of time, and yet they have been widely forgotten and overlooked by the modern world. Shamanic wisdom and medicine has been preserved for centuries because it is still relevant, practical, and effective today. Ever evolving and adapting to meet the needs of the communities that it serves, today the community is a global one.
In these changing and transformative times, we are collectively being asked to evolve; to awaken and remember our original authenticity, to move from separation to collaboration, from indulgence to reciprocity, from ownership to stewardship, and from the mundane to the sacred. Each one of us is a unique drop of the divine, a sacred seed, integral to the unified whole. Shamanism invites us to awaken our sacred seed of consciousness, to do our part in the collective web of life, and assist in the healing of ourselves and the world around us.
Shamans Directory is delighted to welcome you to join is at the Gathering At The Cosmic Fire Summit from 27 Nov through 01 Dec 2023, where shamanic earth-based healers, teachers, thought-leaders and allies have been invited to guide our way into the future. Shamanism is an ancient practice which the modern world needs desperately right now. In this talk you will learn why and what we can do about it.
The climate crisis stems from humanity’s disastrous attitude toward nature. Most of us do not see humanity as one species amongst many, but as possessing some special higher status. Not only is this attitude harmful to the planet and thus to society, it is harmful to each individual. Humans need to feel a connection with nature. Science now teaches that this is a biological need, hence the rise of “ecotherapies.” But how far have we fallen when simply sitting quietly in nature is considered a special kind of activity?
What we do in the world stems from how we think and see, and how we feel about it. These derive from our soul’s relationship with the world. If we change the soul’s relationship to nature, then thinking, feeling and seeing will follow. Shamanism can bring you to a soul-deep partnership with all natural things. And if you wish, it can offer ways for you to spread this to others. The shamanic path is a path of extraordinary experiences, though ceremonies, initiations and meetings with the beings of the spirit realms. If society can see the world shamanically, we will solve the climate crisis.
Join Shamans Directory Member Owen Roberts as he shares the dimensions of the shamanic path; how it can bring you into harmony with nature, and what that it can do for all of us, teacher or student, wounded or healer. You will hear some of the profound lessons that Owen has learned from those who walk their ancestral paths in Mongolia, Africa and Peru and how these teachings can be used by us today, to plant seeds for a new, sustainable, way of being for ourselves as individuals and for society as well. Simple exercises will be offered to produce a more accurate way of seeing, a cosmic consciousness, in which you feel like one member of a huge planetary community on a rotating sphere in an immense cosmos.
Whether you are a shamanic practitioner or a student, we are sure this will broaden your perspective. All are welcome.

Telling a Different Story for a Healthier Reality
With Roberta Boyce and J. Dallas Gudgell
Saturday September 23, 2023
8am PDT / 11am PDT / 5pm CET
Approximately 2 hours
In the coming time of transition it will be important for people to find themselves; to locate their own centers in a new way. The rules that we are used to change during times of transition, and the processes and methods for navigating the world that we have been accustomed to may fail to yield familiar results.
The time of individual-centric operations is passing. Community, cooperation, and collaboration are touchstones for our connection to the natural world of the future. We will need new tools to locate our inner selves, and at once differentiate ourselves while embracing and finding peace in the collective.
Through marrying Dakota cosmology with channeled information Dallas and Roberta provide a meditative container for investigating a ‘sense of self’ outside the restrictions of our current mindset; initiating an opportunity to view ourselves and the world from a more expanded, centered, and grounded place.
About Roberta and Dallas
Shamans Directory Member Roberta Boyce is the founder of Essential Sacred Self, a system that interweaves shamanic technologies, crystalline networks, and expanded consciousness to invite connecting and embody potential. For this event, she combines her gifts with those of her colleague J. Dallas Gudgell, who, over the past 30+ years has served as an educator and life coach, and worked closely with elected officials on issues involving education, indigenous concerns, climate justice, human rights, and environmental protection and conservation.

Integrating Multiple Traditions

We live in a linear world, where most of us are asked to choose one path at a time and follow it to a definitive end. We are asked to do this with our schooling, our careers, our relationships, our faiths and our societal beliefs. But what if we feel called by more than one path - or many - and what happens when we are faced with contradictory messages?
According to the Indigenous teachings of Peru we being called to a point of meeting ourselves again known as the Taripaypacha, where humanity reaches the 4th level of potential for being human. Here, we are able to see and experience all things cosmically, globally. We are able to serve from a place of being consciously aligned with the Universe.
One of the criteria that characterizes a 4th level human is the ability to fully embrace and embody two or more traditions in our heart, without question, conflict, or resistance; perhaps Buddhism and Judaism, Christianity and Andean Cosmology, shamanic earth-based healing and Western medicine. Have you done this? Are you working on it? How has it changed your life, your commitments, and the way you view the world?
Talking Circles are a place to address topics of importance within a community, and to listen and learn from one another in the traditional way of the Indigenous Peoples of Turtle Island. We hope that you will join us to learn from and be inspired by others, discover and define the wisdom that is unique to you, and clear away the stories and energies that prevent you from fully trusting and manifesting your gifts.
This talking circle will be facilitated by Monica McWhirter who is Algonquin, Metis and Polish, Bear and Buffalo Clan. Monica has facilitated Talking Circles and Healing Circles for over a decade. We are proud to have her serving as the Indigenous Liaison for Shamans Directory.
All are welcome.

“We are all part of the ancient Sacred Circle of Life. The essential truth of this reality cannot be denied no matter how we look at it; it is simply an irrevocable truth. To embrace and reclaim our Indigenous relationship to all Life is to remember and lovingly celebrate our sacred relationship with our Mother Earth, all relatives of our One Human Family and our kinship with all Life.” ~ Hereditary Chief Phil Lane Jr.
Indigenous Teachings hold the wisdom and the medicine to restore our right relationship with the earth, with one another and with all living things. We believe that these Teachings should be available to all people who are seeking them.
To honor and celebrate Mother Earth and the Indigenous Teachings of Turtle Island, we are inviting anyone who would like to attend this FREE day of Traditional Teachings and ceremony to join us. For the gift of receiving these teachings, we ask that all who participate offer one act of love and kindness to Mother Earth.

With Nate Long "Owl"
Saturday July 22, 2023
8am PDT / 11am PDT / 5pm CET
Approximately 2 hours
Shamans Directory Member Nate Long is an Intentional Artist and community builder, who gains insight through meditative journey-work, and whose creations are truly a “made prayer” to address something bigger or deeper in the individual or in the greater world. There are many reasons to use journey-work as a tool. Journeying allows us (or Spirit) to change our perspective. It gives us a different angle from which to view an intention or situation, to better empathize and more easily find wisdom and solutions where previously we had thought there were none.
Life offers us a spectrum of experiences from physical and emotional traumas, to those that heal and sustain us with joy and love. For better and for worse, these things shape us into who we are. Deep journey work provides a unique way of engaging with our inner self, allowing us to explore the path to healing from different points of view. During this session, we will have an open discussion about recognizing and emphasizing the importance of perspective change as a part of our practice. To explore and deepen this idea a special flute and drum journey will be offered where you will be guided to meet your child self.
Stepping back to talk with your very young self provides you with the opportunity to explore who you were before any of your limiting beliefs were solidified. It’s a chance to listen to that child's story and provide advice, strength and love for them - perhaps even allow them to more easily navigate the things that are yet to come. This journey is not meant to fix or heal things in your past, but as an opportunity to simply sit, listen, and converse with this very unique and impressionable you.

Saturday July 08, 2023
8am PDT / 11am EDT / 5pm CET
Approximately 2 hours
In the Spring of 2019 Shamans Directory Member Chuck Wilson was given a vision of a specific sacred drum that would honor the Earth, the Tall People, all Tribes, and all of our Earth Relations and Cultures worldwide. In the last part of the vision, the Spirits asked him to create these drums. Presenting Wakan Drums at his first Powwow in August 2019, brought him tears of joy as many Elders knew what they were, thanked him for “bringing them to the Earth,” and gave the drums their blessings.
Wakan Drums are Sacred Drums. Unlike sacred ceremonial drums which are only brought forth for ceremony, or personal sacred drums that are kept much like a sacred pipe, Wakan Drums are to be shared by the Keeper with others so that many people can have the opportunity to “chat with Spirit” if that is meant to be. They are to be played, held, honored and protected as they are here to help many. Wakan Drums give a one-on-one spiritual connection with the person holding the drum. Having an intermediary hold the drum and interpret the visions or messages is not how Wakan Drums work. You hold the gateway over your heart and see what happens!
Today, Chuck’s work includes creating Wakan Drums for people who seek them, helping people journey and interact with Spirit as they hold a drum, conducting drum healing workshops to teach what he has learned, and helping people take their first steps onto the Red Road or expand their path as practitioners. His mission is to offer as many drums as he can to the world. His passion is to provide opportunities for people to hold these drums, connect to their Spirit Guides and Ancestors, and begin to understand that Sacred Drums are their own entities, and to know that Spirits walk with all of us, which is quite a surprise for many.
Hear Chuck's amazing call from Spirit, and learn about the spiritual aspect of sacred shamanic drums and drumming. If you have a drum, bring it with you. This session will surely deepen your relationship!

What Different Religions, Cultures, Faiths, and Ancient Texts Can Teach Us About Water
A Three Day Online Masterclass
With Veda Austin
June 3-5, 2023
Shamans Directory Ambassador Veda Austin is a water researcher, public speaker, mother, artist and author. Of Maori descent, her tribal affiliation is Tainui. Veda has dedicated over a decade to observing and photographing the life of water. She believes that water is fluid intelligence, observing itself through every living organism on the planet and in the universe. She sees water as Source rather than a resource, and considers all bodies of water to be sacred.
Her primary area of focus is photographing water in its ‘state of creation’, the space between liquid and ice. It is through her remarkable crystallographic photos that water reveals its awareness of not only Creation, but thought and intention through imagery. She loves to reconnect children to the living water systems inside and outside of their bodies, believing that the 'tamariki' (children) are the water bearers of the future. She also spends a lot of time doing interviews and podcasts where she shares her findings and inspiring perspectives. When not traveling the world, Veda makes her home in New Zealand.
Veda offers only one Masterclass a year, each with a unique and specific theme. This month she is offering her first ever 3-day event. Join her and an incredible line up of speakers from all around the world as they share their wisdom and knowledge. If you have ever wanted to dive into the deeper spiritual meaning of water, this is the masterclass for you! From science, culture, religion, and philosophy, they are linking Water, God and Spirit together in ways that will not only expand your heart, but also your relationship with the life force energy that we call water.
All recordings from the 3 days will be made available to registrants, regardless of whether you are able to attend the live online event. No prerequisites are required.

Saturday June 10, 2023

Andean textiles lecture 1 hour
Shopping benefit approximately 3 hours
The history of Andean textiles stretches back thousands of years, to the first people who settled along the coast of what is now modern-day Peru. Long before a system of writing was developed, textiles were valued as the primary form of aesthetic expression and communication. Ancient weavers gave life to the stories and traditions of their people through original styles, motifs, and techniques that developed throughout the desert coasts and mountain highlands of the Andean region.
Nilda Callañaupa Alvarez, Founder and Directory of the Center for Traditional Textiles in Cusco Peru was born in the small community of Chinchero. Like many other children she was responsible for taking care of her family’s flock of sheep and spent her time learning to spin and weave with her friends. As she learned more complex designs, she could see there was a powerful history behind the art of her people. Seeing that the art was slowly being lost, she embarked on a journey that would change the fate of Cusco textiles. The first person from her community to attend college, she went on to become one of the founders and now the Director of CTTC. An award-winning author, international speaker, and expert in Cusqueñan textiles.
Join us as Nilda guides us on a journey into this rich textile tradition that continues today through contemporary Andean weavers who proudly continue in the path of their ancestors brining forward their magnificent symbols and patterns in communion with spirits of the nature beings of the land.
Traditional and modern apparel including bags, backpacks, ponchos, blankets, table runners, vests, traditional hats (including Chullos), mastanas, dolls, earrings and special Pre-Columbian designs will all be available for purchase. Prices will range from $20-$700 USD with 100% of proceeds going to supporting the traditional weavers of Cusco, Peru who are working hard to preserve the beauty of these Ancestral textile techniques and pass them on to current and future generations.
