RELEASING COLONIAL WOUNDS

A 7-Week Journey with Maestra Grace Alvarez Sesma
Hosted by The Shift Network
Begins 02 September 2026

You are warmly invited to join curandera and cultural educator Maestra Grace Alvarez Sesma for a seven-week journey into ancestral healing, belonging, and the living relationship we share with those who came before us.

Every family carries stories. Some are remembered with pride; others were buried beneath generations of migration, survival, assimilation, displacement, and colonial change. Even when those stories are forgotten, their imprint can remain—shaping how we understand ourselves, where we belong, and the patterns and burdens we may unknowingly carry. Maestra Grace offers an Indigenous approach to ancestral healing that invites us to meet these histories with compassion rather than judgment, while remembering that our ancestors passed forward not only wounds, but extraordinary gifts of resilience, courage, wisdom, creativity, intuition, and the capacity to begin again.

Through guided visualizations, meditation, journaling, grounding practices, experiential exercises, and ancestral practices, you’ll create a living lineage map that reaches beyond genealogy to include land, culture, spirit, community, and chosen family. You’ll explore how migration, colonization, and historical disruption may have shaped your family story while learning to distinguish what you may no longer need to carry from the wisdom, strengths, traditions, and gifts that can support your life today.

Rooted in reciprocity, respect, and relationship, this work invites you to reconnect with ancestry without romanticizing the past or appropriating another culture’s traditions. And perhaps the deepest invitation is to look not only backward, but forward: To discover what you might carry forward to create your own legacy of healing, belonging, and strength for generations yet to come.
