Global Film Premiere 5-Day Online Gathering

As proud Ambassadors at SAND, all of us at Shamans Directory are honored to invite you to join the global premiere of If An Owl Calls Your Name, the third film in the Wisdom of the Ancestors 12-part series, an intimate cinematic journey into Indigenous healing, truth-telling, and resilience across Esk’etemc, Gitxsan, and Wet’suwet’en territories in what is now called British Columbia, Canada.

This free online global gathering is a powerful five-day event with Indigenous Elders, healers, and activists featured in the film, and includes community film screenings, daily live sessions with Elders, healers, and land defenders, and 48-hour access to recordings if you cannot attend live.

If An Owl Calls Your Name was created in close collaboration with knowledge keepers who share stories shaped by the Canadian residential school system; stories of grief, remembrance, and profound intergenerational healing. The film also follows a frontline story from unceded Wet’suwet’en territory, where hereditary chiefs and matriarchs continue to protect their lands and sacred sites from an imposed fracked-gas pipeline. Their resistance, grounded in ancestral law, illuminates what it means to live in a deep spiritual relationship with the land, and to defend it with courage, dignity, and love.
