Many of us move through our lives unaware that Indigenous communities are still honoring traditional teachings, holding ceremonies, and preserving centuries old wisdom, right along side us This offering is a chance to open our eyes, our hearts, and the doors of awareness to the world and the people around us. It offers a meaningful opportunity to meet Indigenous healers directly, to listen with humility, and to learn practices that restore balance in daily life.

Guided by respected Medicine People and Shamans Directory Members Jay Bird (Aanimkii Giishigadoon, Thunder Days) and Sweetie Bird (Ozaawaa Bines Animikiiwagikwe, Yellow Thunderbird Woman), Opening Doors is a three-week online immersion into Traditional Ojibwe teachings. Through sacred storytelling, ceremony teachings, and Spirit-led dialogue, participants are invited into a deeper understanding of humanity’s original relationship with the Earth, the elements, and the unseen world.

These are not academic lectures. They are living teachings, carried through generations, and shared with thoughtful intention. Participants will be introduced to the beauty of the Ojibwe language and explore topics such as seasonal legends, cultural protocols, the role of names and clans, and the understanding that everything is connected — and each day offers an opportunity to live in ceremony.

As we take on even small ways of living in greater reciprocity with the Earth and each other, we become a part of mending the fractures that divide our communities and our planet.
